CODEBIO

Co-Innovation with Digitalization for Regenerative and Resilient Bio-Production

An Erasmus+ Capacity Building initiative redefining what vocational education can do for agriculture, people, and the planet.

Opening Statement

The Western Balkans produce a significant share of Europe's food. Yet the farmers, technicians, and entrepreneurs driving that production are being left behind — by outdated training systems, fragmented knowledge networks, and a digital divide that widens every year.

CODEBIO exists to close that gap.

We are building a new generation of vocational education — research-grounded, industry-driven, and digitally equipped — so that bio-production in the Western Balkans becomes not just sustainable, but genuinely competitive in a European economy undergoing its deepest transformation in decades.

What CODEBIO Does

We don't just update curricula. We rethink how vocational education connects to the real world.

Through co-innovation — structured collaboration between VET institutions, universities, agribusinesses, and policymakers — CODEBIO develops training that reflects actual industry needs, embeds cutting-edge digital tools, and equips learners to lead the green transition rather than merely adapt to it.
